## Summary

How do you stop copy-pasting the same context into ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and every other AI tool you use? Liam and Stella show how Vilix AI carries your context from tool to tool, so you stop being the copy-paste bridge.

## Transcript

### Intro

Liam: Hey hey hey, welcome to Agentic Pod! I'm Liam.

Stella: And I'm Stella! And today is, um, a little bit personal, because I have a notes file called "paste this into every AI" and it's, like, nine pages long now.

Liam: Nine pages? That's not a notes file, that's a novel.

Stella: It has chapters, Liam. Okay, so the question is, how do you stop copy-pasting your context between all your AI tools?

### Why context gets lost

Stella: So, so first, like, why does this even happen? Because ChatGPT has memory, Claude has history, I I thought we were past this.

Liam: Yeah, and they do, um, every app keeps its own chat history and its own memory, and closing the tab doesn't erase anything. But the thing is, uh, you know, each product keeps its own. So what ChatGPT remembers about you just isn't there when you open Cursor, and a decision you made in Claude is, like, missing from the next assistant.

Stella: Mhm.

Liam: And so people do the workaround, which is exactly your novel. You paste the relevant chunk into every new chat and hope you grabbed the part the AI needs.

Stella: Yeah, I mean, and I never grab the right part. Like, I paste three paragraphs about the database and the question is about the login page.

Liam: Classic. And the longer the project, the more painful every switch gets, um, at this point.

### How Vilix AI carries it

Stella: Okay so how do I, like, stop?

Liam: You connect Vilix AI. It's an MCP-native memory layer, and you add it once per tool as a custom MCP connector with the Vilix AI server address. You sign in, add the Vilix AI custom instructions, and every conversation follows one loop.

Stella: Okay, what's the loop?

Liam: Before the AI replies, it calls get context, and Vilix AI loads your recent messages, relevant past memories, your rules, and the live state of your projects and tasks. Then after it writes the reply, it calls save turn, and the exact exchange gets saved, with a source label, so you can see it came from Claude or Cursor or ChatGPT.

Stella: Oh, nice.

Liam: And the memory lives server-side, in your Vilix AI account. It's tied to you, not to one tool, not to one laptop.

Stella: So, wait, no browser extension, no little sidebar thing?

Liam: Nope. The memory moves because the protocol moves it.

### The Cursor to Claude handoff

Stella: Okay, give me a real example, I, I need to picture it.

Liam: Okay so, uh, say you spend an hour in Cursor on a messy refactor of your API, and you decide the auth middleware has to move. But you want to think it through first, so you open Claude. Normally Claude starts cold, and you're pasting the file, explaining the plan, like, five minutes of rebuilding stuff that already existed.

Stella: Five minutes I will never get back.

Liam: Exactly. With Vilix AI in both tools, Claude calls get context first, it pulls in your Cursor discussion about the middleware plus your API conventions, and you go straight to the actual architecture question. Claude saves that turn, and back in Cursor, the conclusions are already there.

Stella: And what if the useful stuff is, like, old? Like three weeks ago old?

Liam: Yeah, so Vilix AI searches by meaning and by keyword, not just by date. So if you worked on auth three weeks ago and today's question is about auth, those older turns come back, even with a bunch of other chats in between.

Stella: Right.

Liam: And if two tools ever disagree, like you changed the plan in Claude, the newest memory wins, so Cursor builds the new plan, not the old one.

### Rules, agencies and recap

Stella: Okay, last pain, because I'm also that person who types "short answers, TypeScript strict" into every single chat.

Liam: We all are. That's user rules in Vilix AI. You set "short answers" once, and it comes back in the context for every connected tool. Project rules hold the stack and the conventions per project, skills save a procedure every agent can follow, and the Vilix AI agent inbox lets you leave a note from your phone that your agents read on their next run.

Stella: Okay, and for agencies building agents for clients?

Liam: One Vilix AI account per client, like a Gmail account that belongs to that client. Every agent you build for them uses that client's key, so the memory belongs to their business, and you never build memory from scratch.

Stella: Love that. Okay, recap me.

Liam: Every AI tool keeps its own memory, so switching means pasting. Connect Vilix AI once per tool, and get context plus save turn carry your history, rules and tasks into ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Start with one tool, then connect the rest. The article, the full setup guide and the Vilix AI links are in the description. See you next time.

Stella: Bye! And I'm deleting my novel.
